Hans acts as local counsel to a substantial part of the international mining companies active in Suriname. He advises on a wide range of local issues, including: exploration and exploitation rights, third party rights and rights of indigenous communities.
In addition, Hans advised the mining industry in major projects, including: the capital and maintenance dredging of the waterway of the Suriname river, the production of the Bakhuis bauxite mine in the Western part of Suriname, as well the sale of BHP Billiton Suriname's shares to Alcoa.
Hans is also involved in banking and commercial in cross-border settings, and advised in the Euro 28,000,000 refinancing of the Suriname Bridges Project, and in the US.$. 24,000,000 refinancing of the Kersten Group.
He further advised on a bonds issue for the financing of a benchmark eco-tourism resort in Suriname, and the joint-venture of Argos Cementos and Vensur.
Hans has substantial expertise and experience in litigating before the Caribbean Court of Justice in Original Jurisdiction:

Hans is recognized in Chambers Global and Latin America, noting his growing reputation and role in cross-border and projects work, and his exepertise across corporate, banking, finance, and employment matters. He is further recognized in The International Who's Who 2011 edition of Mining Lawyers and of Banking Lawyers.
He contributed Suriname Chapters of the 2010-edition of Getting the Deal Through-Mining, and Getting the Deal Through-Anti-Corruption Regulation.
Hans is an editor for the Suriname Law Journal, the legal periodical published by the Suriname Lawyer's Association.

Education
Hans is a graduate of the University of Leiden in the Netherlands (Civil Law 1990), and of New York University School of Law in New York, USA, (Comparative Jurisprudence 1991). In 2011, Hans graduated 'with merit' from FHR School of Law (graduated from FHR School of Law, Post-Graduate Master programme in International and Comparitive Law).

Araldo has been a member of the Bar of Suriname since 2014.
Education and background
Araldo is a graduate of the Erasmus University Rotterdam (2005, International Law and 2011, Constitutional and Administrative Law) and a graduate of FHR School of Law (2015, International and Comparative Law). Prior to bar admission in Suriname, Araldo used his legal expertise in a variety of ways, including by providing assistance to individuals in need of justice in Schiedam, the Netherlands, through Stichting Rechtswinkel Schiedam and by completing an extended secondment at a natural resources company.
